Currency converter (INR)

Enter an amount, pick the two currencies and the converter crosses them through the rupee. The reference rates are refreshed daily by our own sync job, so a stale rate always shows its own date rather than pretending to be live.

Rates are daily reference rates, not what a bank, card or money-transfer app will charge you. Those add a markup that is usually 1-3.5% on top, plus their own fixed fee.

Frequently asked questions

Which exchange rate does this converter use?+

The daily European Central Bank reference rate, published through frankfurter.app, with open.er-api.com filling Gulf and South Asian currencies the ECB does not list. We store the rates in our own database and refresh them once a day, so the page never calls a third-party API from your browser.

Why is my bank or card charging more than this rate?+

A bank sells you foreign currency at its own card or remittance rate and adds a markup that is typically 1-3.5% on top. The reference rate is an interbank mid rate with no markup, so treat this as the fair value, not the amount you will be billed.

How do I read the rupees-per-unit table?+

Each row is how many rupees one unit of that currency is worth. For a currency worth less than a rupee, such as the Japanese yen, the value is shown to more decimal places; the converter itself calculates with the full stored rate.
